RPE Tours the Genesee Brewery

Who doesn’t like beer? Ok if you’re not a beer person, have you ever wondered how beer is made at the oldest & largest brewery in Rochester NY? The Rochester Plant Engineers had an awesome tour of the Genesee Brewery with a maxed-out crowd of 40 people with dinner to follow at the Brewhouse. Matt and Mike, our tour guides, did an excellent job taking us through the plant from start to finish of the brewing process. Starting with the material holding silos to the yeast fermenting rooms, hot side brewing then to the cold side of brewing. Then onto the filling of the bottles & cans onto the final packaging. So much stainless steel and beer through the building!! We also had time to visit the steam plant, a working museum in itself. The brewery has made many updates over the past number of years with many more coming. It is exciting to see the Brewery to continue its growth in the community. The brewhouse offered an excellent variety of beers and a great buffet to round out the evening.
