The Rochester Colonial Plant tour held on October 16, 2024 was an interesting tour, but a personal reality tour of the TV show “How It’s Made: American Made” on the Science channel. Rochester Colonial started in 1947 with the goal to provide high quality windows and doors while delivering exceptional customer service. A third-generation family-owned business, Sam Gionta believed everyone should be able to obtain quality windows and doors regardless of budget therefore, Rochester Colonial is pleased to discuss your home needs with a no pressure consultation.
This tour started out in the 2nd floor conference room then moved through the show room where we learned about the new FoldUp Windows creating new opportunities to open your living space to the outdoors. This window is fantastic folding upward to an opening larger than the traditional double hung and when closed, has the look of other traditional wood windows. Thes are the perfect choice for a pass though if you choose to have the bar top space at your house. Check out their website for more information. We then moved into the wood shop and learned of the unique wood Rochester Colonial uses for most of the products built with the new CNC machines and the old way hands on methods still used today. Examples of the half lap joint, dove tail and the Mortise and Tenon Joint; also shown was some unique one-off antique items being reconstructed by the highly skilled carpenters. As we continued to walk through the shop, the cleanliness, organization and attention to details were outstanding. This was an amazing tour.
