Apply for Scholarships
Criteria: Applicant must be a full time student enrolled in the Engineering or Engineering Technology, Trade school and/or Union disciplines and must be recommended by the respective Dean or Professor from the college and/or Trade school. Union Trades must have recommendation from a Union representative.
Selection: Applicant must prepare a short essay regarding their career direction, short and long term goals, personal and academic achievements and the reasons for choosing engineering as a career. The Board of Directors of Rochester Plant Engineers will vote on the award. Voting will be on a 1-5 scale, with 5 being the highest.
The three applicants scoring the highest total points will be awarded the scholarships based on:

Scholarship awarding: All submissions must be entered by July 31 of the awarding year. The Board of Directors will vote on all entrants, and you will be notified and receive payment of your award by August 30 of award year. Award recognition will be at the Clambake of the award-winning year.
The Matthew Knights Scholarship
Established in the amount of $500 to $1,500 to honor the RPE Education Chairman of the RPE, Mathew Knights. This scholarship recognizes a college student who has maintained academic excellence and actively involved in extracurricular activities.

The Tom Ward Scholarship
Established in the amount of $500 to $1,500 to honor RPE Board of Directors affiliate, Tom Ward. This scholarship was established to recognize an academically proficient student in the local trade schools wanting to expand their knowledge base.

The Thomas Coburn Scholarship
Established in the amount of $500 to $1,500 to honor long time RPE Board of Directors Secretary, Tom Coburn. This scholarship was established to recognize academically proficient students the Union Trades wanting to expand their knowledge base.
